The importance of Complete Transparency Practices in Civil Society Organisations cannot be over-emphasised.
Therefore, we will work with the State and other Civil Society Organisations to create the legal and other environment for such practices.
We consider Absolute Transparency in each and every activity of the Centre as our most valuable defence tool. This is so in view of the attacks we have experienced in our early and recent history.
We now inaugurate our Transparency Practices in all of our affairs, Financial or Otherwise.
All activities of the Centre, except those which were directly related to Specific Activity Projects normally funded by International Funding Institutions, have been financed by active board members, either by out of pocket expenses, or in kind services. This is the way in which the Centre has functioned since its founding in 1992.
Funding from Local Sources has not been attempted. Given the history of the Centre, we are now confident that this is possible. Consequently, a Local Funding Campaign to finance the Administrative Costs of the Centre has now been launched.
Specific Project Funding has been received from the following sources:
•IMTD – Washington DC
•The United Nations organisations ‘UNOPS’ and ‘UNDP’
•The European Union
•The World Council of Churches

No monetary or in-kind benefits have ever been made to Board Members or Other Volunteers.
It is an International practice however, to pay volunteers a moderate fee for services rendered, or to reimburse them for out-of-pocket expenses made for the purposes of Specific Projects. These payments are exclusively for their services as Trainers or Project Coordinators. Such payments are authorised and controlled by the specific project funding bodies.
